# Check ECLIs in AI legal text

Check whether an ECLI exists - and whether there is a signal that the judgment was later quashed in the same case.

## Why this matters

AI texts can contain convincing but incorrect ECLI citations. A real judgment may also later have been (partly) quashed on appeal or cassation. Without that check, a memo or filing may rest on a source that no longer holds procedurally.

## How VeriLeges helps

This is not a claim that a source is unusable in every context, and not a doctrinal or precedent judgment. It is a factual procedural signal: open the later judgment and decide what remains relevant.

### Does this only work on AI text?

No. VeriLeges checks citations in legal text, whether written by AI or by a human. AI is a common reason to use it, not the product definition.

### Does this replace the lawyer?

No. You get signals and source links so you can see where to look next. Legal assessment stays with you.
